Two Artists. One Sound

Velours brings together Romanian soprano Dana Tanase and pianist Georgiana Pletea, two musicians whose paths met in Basel, Switzerland, after years of musical training and performing across Europe.

Both artists hold a Bachelor’s degree and two Master’s degrees in Music. Dana pursued her studies in Dublin and Basel, while Georgiana completed her higher musical education in Basel. Together, they bring over 15 years of experience in classical music and live performance, with appearances on stages throughout Europe and, in Georgiana’s case, as far as Australia.

Born from a shared love of music beyond genres and labels, Velours combines the intimacy of voice and piano with the freedom to move between classical repertoire, jazz, pop and timeless songs reimagined in their own style.

At the heart of the duo is a simple idea: two musicians, two personalities, and the joy of creating something together that feels alive, and authentic.

Two young women are performing a piano and a vocal solo on stage in a concert hall. The woman on the left is playing a grand piano, and the woman on the right is standing in front of a music stand, singing.
